Who Are We

We are the Rotary eClub of Silicon Valley, a non-profit organization that brings together community leaders to take action to better our communities through service. We also love having fun and eating! As a Rotary eClub, we also produce thought-provoking, educational, and innovative video programs with world class brands. These programs are recorded online over Zoom Video Conferencing with a guest speaker who speaks to our club about a topic that they’re an expert in or passionate about. These video programs are posted to our Rotary eClub’s Youtube Channel, and then featured for an entire week during one of our online meetings available here on our website. There’s a new online meeting available every Monday (San Francisco or Silicon Valley time) on this website that anyone — members and guests — can read and watch.

We wanted to create our own innovative content while keeping all of our online meetings available for anyone to attend without any obstacles. There’s no account login required to attend any of our online meetings. You can even view them on your favorite mobile device, on the train or even while you’re waiting in line for coffee. While most of our members live or work in the Silicon Valley and the greater San Francisco bay area, we also have members abroad from Brazil to South Africa. These remote members may not live in the Silicon Valley, but have interests or ties directly to the Silicon Valley.

All of our members are people of action in their local communities and all volunteer their time to become part of a bigger organization of local people doing service to better the world: Rotary. While we our weekly meetings happen online, we also host social events and service events in-person throughout the San Francisco bay area every month. From exploring breweries and wineries to sailing across the San Francisco bay area to doing service projects throughout Silicon Valley, you are all invited to come join us for one of our monthly events in the San Francisco bay area!

The best way to learn more about our Rotary eClub is to attend one of our online meetings. It’s free and takes about 1 hour of your time. You can start by clicking on the “Current Meeting” link in the top navigation. If you like what you see, and you’re wondering what benefits there are to membership to our Rotary eClub, we invite you to also check out our Join page with more details about membership costs and benefits. If you stop by one of our online meetings, be sure to leave a comment and let us know where you’re from! We love hearing from guests!

Message from our President

e-RYLA Event Was A Success!

Report on the 4th International e-RYLA 2023

On April 21 and 22, we were celebrating the 4th edition of the International e-RYLA, of which our club, RECSV, was for the second time co-organizer, together with the Rotary e-Cub del Mediterráneo, based in Alicante, Spain, and the Rotary e-Club of Cologne, Germany, and as a first time co-organizer the Rotary Club of Sofia International, Bulgaria. The 4 Rotary Clubs enjoyed amazing support from the Rotaract Clubs of e-Club Cologne and Sofia International. This year’s motto was environment and sustainability, and each co-hosting club was invited to bring speakers.

We were able to listen to such interesting topics as light pollution, the Global Compact, Kelp as an innovative resource, sustainable peace, how to end plastic soup, alternative energies, a climate neutral football stadium, sustainable investments and many, many more.

We also felt very honored that Jennifer Jones, President of Rotary International had sent us a personalized video which had been achieved and sent to us by Victor Javier Elena, the District Governor of District 2203.

It was really exciting to have people from so many countries get together and share thoughts and concerns about the future of our planet Earth and its inhabitants, although we had been hoping for a larger number of participants. It seems that there are maybe too many online conferences offered at the moment and people may also be somewhat tired of meeting online after the pandemic.

Yet it was a great chance to meet old friends and make new friends within the Rotary community. Even in the very last slot on Saturday midday Standard Pacific Time, and already quite late at night in Europe, when there were only 8 participants left, the audience still consisted of people coming from 6 countries and 3 different continents.

We only had positive feedback, both from members of the audience and all the co-organizers, and I would like to send a very warm THANK YOU to everybody who made this great event possible!
